Diversity is acknowledging understanding valuing and celebrating differences among people with respect to age, class, ethnicity, gender, physical and mental ability, race, sexual orientation, spiritual practice etc.

It is important a company recognize differences for high performances and continuous improvement, enhancing effectiveness and creativity, and valuing it as opportunities for most effective problem solving.

Organization with a diverse workforce can benefit from unique perspectives with varied experiences. It allows them to supply greater variety of solutions, can be flexible to market and consumer demands.

Having diversity allows for more ideas, varying views, and employees perform better at a comfortable level which meets business and consumer needs effectively.  As a result a company that encourages a culture that supports and inspires personal and team development within the workplace supports a rich and productive environment.

To have diversity inspires employees to perform better with higher results in productivity, an opportunity for everyone to participate and helps value differences along with work ethics. Diversity in a work environment provides structure and employee involvement, while creating a strong foundation for values, resources, commitment, strategic planning, accountability, goals and objectives. Diversity leads to honesty, integrity and loyalty for the company.

Diversity amongst people is important because we can benefit greatly and learn from one another. It is not only how you perceive yourself but others and how you interact with them.  To achieve being a diverse person it requires a personal evaluation, your commitment, curiosity, and willingness for continuous learning effort.

Allow yourself to break from your own comfort zone to pursue knowledge that will enhance your performance and empower you as a individual. Keeping an open mind and overcoming a stereotypical view allows you to benefit having a unique perspective of individuals, understanding, appreciation, and ultimately managing differences and similarities at the same time, being a positive contributor to society.

“There were never in the world 2 opinions alike; anymore than 2 hairs or 2 grains. The most universal quality is diversity.” – Michel de Montaigne
